reat example. Many times I open a webpage and there is sound or action that really is not relevant to the page. In your example the sound and action are needed to illustrate the concepts that are being taught. Sound and action probably work well in most cases similar to this that require interaction with the user for learning purposes. When the sound and action are not helping the concept of the webpage it can be a distraction for the user. As you mentioned it is important that the audio is good quality and clear so that the users can get the most out of the page.
The use of sound and action in Web pages can produce mixed results, positive and negative. Provide a URL for a site you feel uses sound and/or action effectively and positively. State your viewpoint: describe why the function added to the appeal of the site.
The article Autonomy provided information on the company that was acquired by Hewlett-Packard in October 2011. Autonomy is a vendor of enterprise search software that organizes unstructured information. The main foundation of the software is the IDOL system (Intelligent Data Operating Layer). This software helps to aid in automatic categorization of unstructured information. This type of technology is increasingly important as digital information continues to compile. There can be great value to businesses to having a strong database of organized information that was previously left unstructured. It can help to show different trends within the business that have gone unnoticed.

The two main functions of user accounts on a network are to provide a method for users to authenticate themselves to the network and to provide detailed information about the user. Authenticating users on the network allows network administrators to allow or deny network permissions. This will determine what type of actions the user is allowed to do. An example of that would be installing software or downloading from the internet. The user information will have the details about the users contact information or which department they might belong to for helping with support issues. Maintenance on a network with user accounts is most likely going to be a problem with use permissions or passwords. As an administrator I would configure user rights by groups based on the department category. I would determine the needs of the individuals within that group and give them only access to what they absolutely need. Each user account would be password protected as well. The passwords would have to fall within a guideline limit to prevent unauthorized access to someone’s account.

I think what you’re discussing here in terms of stepping up the security or stepping down the security is actually handled in Active Directory by using nested groups. You can actually create the highest level group with the least level of security and each subgroup that’s nested within can add more security. In this way each nested subgroup inherits the security levels that are granted above so that the added levels grant more security. As security needs change in a project you can simply move users from one level of the nested group to another. Your thoughts?

What are the two main functions of user accounts in a network? As a network administrator, how would you establish user rights and permissions to minimize maintenance efforts?
