Term Project Proposal Name: Overview Select one of the project ideas you specified in lab 3(Project Idea: Design and implement a web site that has a specific purpose). Rather your term project for this class will be to generate the documents that would be used by the Project Manager to manage the project. The project proposal is the first of those documents. The purpose of the project proposal is to obtain the approval from senior level executives. For this reason it should be brief and to the point while specifying the project importance, the benefits of pursuing the project, the disadvantages of not pursuing it, an overall budget estimate, and any special issues or constraints that are currently known. The project proposal usually happens before a lot of effort is put into looking at the details of the project or scheduling the tasks that need to be performed. One doesn’t want to spend an inordinate amount of time up front before funds and resources are allocated to the project. However management often will not dedicate money and people until they’re convinced the project will be worthwhile.
