The primary weakness of my research proposal is that I had not identified an appropriate social problem to dwell on through the research study. It was a requirement that I remain clear and succinct with the identification of the social service organization and social problem. The other problem is that I had not explained in my research proposal concerning the ways of differentiating a legitimate research problem. The other parts of the research study were clear and had valid explanations. The professor identified the problems or weaknesses with my research proposal that needed clarification or corrections. Further readings assisted in rectifying the research proposal’s weaknesses. In this case, I was able to base the research question on my area of practice. Making corrections to the research proposal is an essential aspect with the potential to influence research outcomes. Hence, addressing the weaknesses was an important aspect of the research process.
In addressing the research weakness, I was able to make the research focus as specific as possible. In this case, my research study focused on investigating the influence of mindfulness in resolving trauma among children and youth. I also addressed the issue of legitimate research questions by ensuring that the research questions were specific to the research focus or topic. Subsequently, the other weakness that I encountered is when searching for relevant literature. It was difficult finding information that is related to Brevard County, Florida. However, I narrowed my search to ensure that the literature was related to my area of study. I feel that the research proposal is currently refined, and I am ready to conduct the research.
