As a manager, you will be called upon many times to educate peers and subordinates on changes in the organization. Some of these will involve procedures, new marketing methodologies, new line of products for the upcoming season, changes in technology. To explain these, you will create presentations in various media. Usually you will present these lessons to everyone and follow them with a question and answer session. Some of them will be interactive online lessons, depending on the topic. We will refer to these presentations as lesson plans for this assignment.
You are to choose a software program, app on your phone, website of interest, or new technology that you can demonstrate, and develop an electronic informational presentation (lesson plan) using the media of your choice. In your presentation, you must explain:
- History.
- Mission or primary objective of the software and/or hardware.
- How you subscribe to or obtain the technology.
- How you use it. This should include edited screen grabs and video.
- Critique of it. Personal experience and critique from others including professionals who specialize in this technology.
- Any similar site, technology, or service? Who are they; what are the differences? Make sure you include links to them.
- Using Twitter, Facebook, or Google+, or software like Photoshop, Illustrator, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or WebPDM are not acceptable. There are too many options for those applications and/or software that would require a book.
- You must be able to see/present the lesson plan in a classroom setting, whether this class is in a classroom or online.
