For this week’s assignment, interview an HR professional or other company executive in order to gain insights

into
 the HR Planning process.

You can use the following questions as a starting point. These questions are suggestions – you will want to add questions of your own as well as follow up questions as your discussion progresses. It is best to have a face-to-face or telephone conversation with your subject person. E-mail should only be used if absolutely necessary (or if your interviewee asks to be

interviewed that way
).

  2. How did you get into human resources?
  3. Have you developed a strategic workforce plan for your organization?
  4. How does your company plan for annual hiring?
  5. How effective do you feel your company’s approach to succession planning is?
  6. What, if anything, would you change about your company’s approach to staffing?
  7. What suggestions do you have for me if I wanted to implement a formal succession plan?

The responses to your interview should be compiled in a cohesive essay. Include an explanation of who you interviewed, why you selected them, and the insights you gained as a result of your conversation, especially those related to the HR Planning Process.

Compose your essay in APA format, including the introduction and conclusion, and in-text citations for all sources used. In addition to your 3

page
