iLAB OVERVIEW Scenario/Summary

You are an intern with the Regional Realty Association and are analyzing the claim made by Alice Barr Realty that “we get your price.” You have prepared a spreadsheet that shows data relating to 3 months’ sales by Alice Barr Realty. You are going to determine the percent of asking price for each home sold and analyze the sales data to determine the true track record of the company in selling homes for the asking price.

 GRADING RUBRIC

Instructions and Scoring

Your first post should not begin with “Post 1, 2, etcetera” or “I agree or disagree”

🙁

You are required to make 3 posts on 3 separate days (see scoring below), therefore it is strongly suggested that you make your first post early in the week (by Wednesday) so that you have 4 remaining days to make your 2 final posts (week ends Sunday night).

🙂

Your responses should be complete, detailed and well thought out.  I am looking for original input so please share your experiences so we can all learn from them.

🙂

Please note, any questions that I ask within the threaded discussion can be answered and will count as posts like the general topic below.  I am looking forward to some great discussions!

🙂

The Office Talk will close at 11:59 PM Sunday.  You will not be able to make any responses once the discussion has closed, please allocate your time accordingly.

1 MATH7601: Project Descriptions In the following we describe possible projects. Every student needs to conrm his choice of project by e-mail to [email protected] before the end of Friday 15 March 2013. Not conrming your choice of projects automatically leads to a loss of marks. Once conrmed you are not allowed to change your project any more. The deadline for submission of the projects is Friday 12 April 2013. See the guidance notes for how to submit your projects. Project descriptions: 1. Multicanonical Monte Carlo Methods and Rare Growth Factors. One of the big un- solved research problem in Gaussian elimination is the question of backward stability. Even with partial pivoting examples are known, where Gaussian elimination exhibits very large back- ward errors. The backward stability depends on the so-called growth factor, which states by how much elements of the U matrix grow in comparison to A in the factorisation PA = LU, and matrices are known where the growth-factor depends exponentially on the dimension of the problem. Yet, in practice Gaussian elimination with partial pivoting is a very stable method to compute solutions of systems of linear equations. The question therefore is: “How rare are large growth factors?”. In the paper “Searching for Rare Growth Factors Using Multicanonical Monte Carlo Methods” by Driscoll and Maki, SIAM Review, Vol. 49, pp. 673{692 a numerical procedure based on Monte Carlo simulations is presented to compute the probability of randomly picking a matrix with a large growth factor. In this project you are asked to review the history of the investigation into large growth factors and to describe and implement the Multicanonical Monte Carlo approach by Driscoll and Maki in Python to compute the probability distribution function of the growth factor. Lots of variations are possible. You can change the probability distribution function for the matrices, or try for example to nd growth factors in specic classes of matrices, such as…

15.Individual Assignment #1—Instructions
IA#1 Cybercrime Law, Regulation, Effects on Innovation

Course Objective: Research cybersecurity laws, regulations and legal concepts, and relate them to managerial decisions needed to protect national security.
Each student explores cybersecurity as a public good.

16.   Answer these questions:
1. How should government justify telling private industry how to set up or improve their cybersecurity?
    •    Keeping the focus on national security concerns, clearly discuss the compelling sociopolitical reasons, motivations, or arguments for or against government intervention into private sector cybersecurity.
    •    Clearly discuss the methods of government intervention. That is, what authorities (such as laws, regulations and rules) give the executive or legislative representatives the right to regulate private industry?
    •    Describe real-world examples that help support your discussion.
2. Clearly discuss the impacts/effects, if any, on national security due to government regulation required to be implemented by private industry.
    •    Clearly discuss effects on national security that might result from (a) failure to comply with related cyber regulations or requirements, (b) meeting only the minimum requirements, and (c) exceeding the minimum requirements.
    •    Clearly discuss whether private industry now has a responsibility to protect national security through implementing good cybersecurity controls imposed by government regulation.
    •    Describe real-world examples that help support your discussion.
Hint: First prepare an outline based on the questions asked in this assignment.  The outline is not submitted as part of the final report, but it should be used to help structure your TOC.  Also, the introduction should provide a brief preview for the reader, indicating what areas your research explored.  Do this for all your research papers, both the individual and the team projects.

Length 5-7 pages, due at the end of Week 2.
Prepare your paper in Word format. It should be double-spaced with one-inch margins all around. The citations and the reference list in the paper should be formatted in accordance with APA 6th edition guidelines.
The paper must include: cover page, table of contents, introduction, section headings and subheadings, conclusions, APA compliant in-text citations and list of references, and page numbers. The page count starts with the introduction and ends with the conclusions. The questions asked in the assignment should first be outlined (the outline is not included in the document), then the outline should be used to create the Table of Contents and the document sub-headings.  The Introduction should briefly preview each sub-heading in the document.

IMPORTANT: Before you submit your paper, you will need to run your assignment through Turnitin.com and receive an originality report. DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE TO DO THIS. It may take several hours to a day or two for Turnitin.com to do this.

Computer Science 2023 Hacking IoT: Case Study On Baby Monitor Exposures And Vulnerabilities – Rapid7

2023 GUIDELINES FOR WRITING A CASE STUDY A case study analysis requires you to investigate | Assignment Collections

GUIDELINES FOR WRITING A CASE STUDY

A case study analysis requires you to investigate a problem, examine the alternative solutions, and propose the most effective solution using supporting evidence.  Your submission should be no more than 2 pages and needs to adhere to APA formatting for spacing and citations.  Include a title page, your case study (1-2 pages), and reference page.  For guidance on APA formatting check out this resource:  https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/section/2/10/

Preparing the Case

Before you begin writing, follow these guidelines to help you prepare and understand the case study:

  1. Read and examine the case thoroughly
    • Take notes, highlight relevant facts, underline key problems.
  2. Focus your analysis
    • Identify two to three key problems
    • Why do they exist?
    • How do they impact the information security field?
    • Who is responsible for them?
  3. Uncover possible solutions
    • Review course readings, discussions, outside research, and your experience.
  4. Select the best solution
    • Consider strong supporting evidence, pros, and cons: is this solution realistic?

Drafting the Case

Once you have gathered the necessary information, a draft of your analysis should include these sections:

  1. Introduction
    • Identify the key problems and issues in the case study.
    • Formulate and include a thesis statement, summarizing the outcome of your analysis in 1–2 sentences.
  2. Background
    • Set the scene: background information, relevant facts, and the most important issues.
  3. Alternatives
    • Outline possible alternatives (not necessarily all of them)
    • Why are alternatives not possible at this time (if not possible)?
  4. Proposed Solution
    • Provide one specific and realistic solution
    • Explain why this solution was chosen
    • Support this solution with solid evidence
  5. Recommendations
    • Determine and discuss specific strategies for accomplishing the proposed solution.
    • If applicable, recommend further action to resolve some of the issues
    • What should be done and who should do it?

Finalizing the Case

After you have composed the first draft of your case study analysis, read through it to check for any gaps or inconsistencies in content or structure: Is your thesis statement clear and direct? Have you provided solid evidence? Is any component from the analysis missing?

When you make the necessary revisions, proofread and edit your analysis before submitting the final draft.
