Learning Activity Instructions

Topic: Learner Objectives

In this learning activity, you will write good learner objectives. Well-written educational (learner) objectives are the heart of your program intervention. Use the “Tool for Developing Educational Objectives” attachment to develop 1 learner objective to address a secondary or contributing risk factor that you identified in the “Risk Relationship Chart” you prepared about the health determinant you chose.

Submit Learning Activity 5 by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Sunday of Module/Week 5.

Please see attachment below. It’s urgent. Peer reviewed articles within 5 years of publications

From the Learning Resources, you also have learned about national and international law, policy, and a treaty such as the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD).

For a better understanding, you need to read the resources for this topic included in the Learning Resources for this week and the additional resources and links posted under Learning Resources. You will also find additional information about the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) posted under the Announcements area as a brief summary of the ADA for your review.

****Questions/statements must be identified with their respective numbers Ex: 1. 2, 3, etc. 2. a, b, c, etc. If there is more than one Part to the discussion activity each Part I, Part II, etc. must be identified as well. All questions/statements must be answered directly.****

Part I – 1. Please respond with a brief explanation of the following questions:

a) After becoming familiar with the History and Disability Rights Movement and the Americans with Disabilities Act – Was the U.S. in need of such comprehensive civil rights law for one specific population? Please explain.

b) Does the ADA influence your thoughts with regard to the rights of other populations or groups other than disability, such as race, gender, ethnicity, or LGBT, among others?

c) Have you witness through your own experience or that of people you know, if the ADA and its consequent policies have, in any way, improve people with disabilities social inclusion and interaction with others and therefore their quality of life.

d) Discuss one significant similarity and one significant difference between the ADA and the CRPD. Provide an example for each.

Part II. — Discussion 2: Disability Rights Movement

To Do:

c) Compare the time when the video/documentary took place with today’ society. Is there any impact on society? What has changed? What has not changed?

  • Discuss the single most important or surprising lesson learned in this class as well as what made it so.
  • Summarize what you learned in the class in 140 characters or less (something you could post on Twitter).
  • Discuss how you will apply the lessons learned from this class to your current or future career in the health care industry. Provide specific examples to support your response.
  • Consider the way that health care is marketed today and suggest at least one innovative technique that could revolutionize health care marketing in the future.

Prior to beginning this discussion, review this week’s readings and the Weekly Lecture.

The content of this course is detailed, necessary, and sometimes a bit confusing. As we wrap up the six weeks, with the final assignment being a collaboration of job analysis, job design, and performance evaluation, we must accept the fact that not everything fits into a nice, neat package. Due to time management or perhaps lack of resources, there are times that you may have to make a decision about the path you will take to accomplish a task. Our last discussion looks at the options and helps with the decision-making process for reshaping the task. The purpose of this discussion is a reminder that the role of the HRM must be fluid and adaptable to the task at hand.

Review each process (job analysis, job design, and performance evaluation), and determine what is a must-do and what can be eliminated when necessary for each process. Each review should be at least one paragraph with one resource supporting the must-do options. Defend all of your choices.

Address the following for each process.

  • Why must you do one task, and why would it be all right to not do another?
  • Will there be problems if you do not do something?
  • Is it possible to not do something now and perhaps readdress it later on without repercussions?

Part 1

Think about a recent project/endeavor that you have participated in. Do you agree with the following statement: “With proper planning it is possible to eliminate most/all risks from a project/endeavor”? Why, or why not?

Your journal entry must be at least 200 words. No references or citations are necessary.

Part 2

The purpose of this assignment is for you to initiate a risk assessment of a business of your own choosing. Use the provided Word template to complete the assignment. Please be sure to properly cite and reference any outside resources that you may use, including your textbook, using APA formatting.

These are the instructors exact words with link to the prompt

Write a five paragraph essay discussing one concept from one chapter (from pages 19-90).

What do I mean by “concept”? Open to one of the instructional chapters. Let’s say chapter 3. Look through the chapter. As you look through it you will see that it’s divided in to many small sections with title in all caps. Each of these sections is 1-3 pages long. These sections are what I’m calling “concepts.”

You’ll read the section carefully. You’ll take notes. When you think you understand it very well, write a five (or so) paragraph essay explaining it to me. One important thing you should do is to create your own examples, so that you aren’t just summarizing, but showing me that you can apply the concept.

You will need to do one of these essays for a B, and two for an A.

This paper is due the week we discuss the chapter your concept is in, in class. In any case, you must attempt this assignment this assignment before October 13.
