In approximately 250 words, please respond to the following questions:

  1. Are you concerned about your impact on the environment and how it contributes to global climate change?
  2. Explain why/why not and provide examples of reasons for your level of concern.

Peer response 1

From some TV talking shows, I know about the global climates change. The shows produced many videos to show the results of global warming. Since I was young, I am concerned about my impact on the environment. From daily recycling, reuse items, bring my own utensils when dinning out to turn off/unplug the electronic, all I did/do is for thinking about the impact on the environment. From the reading of 3 degrees, the content is matching the one I saw in my home country. It seems like every country care about the same thing- global climate change. We can know the news about the fire of amazon. It is exactly related to the article of ” Between two and three degrees the Amazon rainforest, whose plants produce 10 per cent of the world’s photosynthesis and have no evolved resistance to fire, may turn to savannah, as drought and mega-fires first destroy the rainforest, turning trees back into carbon dioxide as they burn or rot and decompose.” I feel like it is happening!

I think my personal contribution is reducing the use of plastic. From the reading, I know plastics are made from fossil fuels like oil and natural gas, which release toxic emissions when extracted from the earth. These gas will leak during production, which causes even worse greenhouse effects than carbon dioxide. Industrialization causes massive amounts of disposable plastics began flowing into their economies—water bottles, bags, to-go containers and utensils—items that earmark a consumer culture. I am trying hard to use these things less to protect the environment. I know Starbucks start to use a better cap for drinking instead using straws. I know a lot of states prohibit using plastic bags for shopping. We can see a lot of big brands and governments are aware of it and starting to change their policy to help the global climate change. All I did is just very little for the earth. But once it is done by every body, it will contribute a lot for the earth.

Choose and respond to one of the prompts below.

.4. Explain the fifirst and second premises and deductions. You must use illustrations from Fromkin.

5. Explain the short war illusion and its limitations. Must use Fromkin.

6. Explain the rational war choice. Must illustrate using Fromkin.

In your initial post, reflect on a public safety administrator within your community. Then discuss some of the skills you have learned in previous courses that are necessary to be successful in that identified position.

Some examples include public safety administrators within law enforcement, corrections, probation, or parole.

Read and respond to at least two of your peers’ posts. Do you agree or disagree with their skill assessments? Why or why not? What other skills will you need for the position you have identified?

Refer to the Discussion Rubric for directions on completing these discussions

Scott Fane was a CPA licensed to practice In New Jersey and Florida. He built his New Jersy practice by making unsolicited phone calls to executives. When he moved to Florida, the Board of Accountancy there prohibited him (and all CPAs) from personally soliciting new business. Fane sued. Does the First amendment force Florida to forgo foreclosing Fane’s phoning? Argument for Fane : The Florida regulation violates the First Amendment, which protects commercial speech. Fane was not saying anything false or misleading, but was just trying to secure business. This is an unreasonable regulation, designed to keep newcomers out of the marketplace and maintain steady business and high prices for established CPAs. Argument for Florida Board of Accountancy: Commercial speech deserves and gets a lower lever of protection than other speech. This regulation is a reasonable method of ensuring that the level of CPA work in our state remains high. CPAs who personally solicit clients and obviously in need of business. They are more likely to bend legal and ethical rules to obtain clients and keep them happy, and will lower the standards throughout the state.

  1. Understand the design documentation phase
  2. Document several cloud services needed for this project
  3. Create a flow chart of the course lab application
  4. Implement a historical change grid at the top of the document
  5. Submit the module use-case document to the course Dropbox for grading

The project design phase begins with opening the discussions into more details about the project requirements. The details can cover the user interface look and feel to how each of the controls will be used and what type of permissions are applied to each user control. During this phase, it is critical for the system/network administrators and database admins to step in and contribute to these discussions. The design of these system components are important and they will have a direct effect on the performance of the product or service.

  1. In this objective imagine that you are a system/network engineer and document some of the common cloud services to implement a software application product built in-house as an enterprise product that must supports 100 simultaneous users. Make sure to document why you need the cloud service for this type of enterprise solution and then document the benefits of using the cloud service for each component that you recommended.
  2. In this step design and build a new flow-chart of current course lab application. You will be far enough into the course lab that you will be able to build a flow-chart from it. Use whatever tools are at your disposal from Microsoft Paint to Visio or hand draw a design and take a picture of it with your phone. Flow charts give the reader a visual understanding of the project design and the user responds to different scenarios while using the product.
  3. At the top of this document, implement historical changes grid so all readers know when a section in the use case was changed, and by whom. The historical change section should be easy to understand why a change to the document occurred, with informative details such as name, change description, date of change, and version. In a way, this is used for document control, there are other ways to manage document changes but they do not keep track of the history of each change, sometimes this is a manual process.

Describe the topics you will use for these 3 assignments (look at the Assignments link to see detailed descriptions of the assignments):

  • Week 3 Speech: Informative Topic
  • Week 5 Position Paper: Debatable Topic
  • Week 7 Analysis Paper: Debatable Topic

Describe a topic (terrorism) you will use for each of these assignments for the Week 2 Forum. You may want to start this process by thinking of your field of study (some hints are shown in the lesson). As you think about your topics, keep in mind your purpose (to inform and persuade). Decide if you need to narrow your topic a bit. Think about your audience and how you can help your reader understand the topic. You can talk about these things in your forum post. See example post below.

An informative topic informs the reader of a topic.

A debatable topic (or persuasive topic) is a topic that people can agree or disagree and will have many alternative viewpoints.

*** Since you are all majoring in different fields of study, some of you may be using APA, some of you may be using Chicago Turabian or some of you may be using MLA for your citations, please tell me in your post which notation style you are using.***

EXAMPLE POST:

“I am an education major. I want to become a teacher. So topics that are interesting in my field of education are learning, bilingual education and school shootings. For my speech, my topic will be ‘How to motivate students to learn.’ For my Position paper, I will write about ‘The Benefits of Bilingual Education.’ For my Analysis paper, I will write about ‘Arming teachers in the classroom will not deter school shootings.’ This is how I will make my speech topic more specific: I will motivate my students to learn by providing interesting lessons, have stimulating group projects, and engage in fun discussions. For my Position paper topic, I will add details to my topic by saying that ‘The benefits of Bilingual Education include allowing students to retain their first language, heritage, and permitting students to learn English little by little. For my Analysis paper topic, I will add details on my topic by…”

my example:

My major is intelligence studies, and my field of studies is middle eastern studies. For my speech I will write about the “what terrorism is and its danger to society.” For my position paper I will write about the importance of collecting intelligence stateside as well as globally. For my analytical paper I will write about the collection of intelligence state side would not be invading citizens privacy.

When we become ill, our bodies set out to restore our health with a variety of mechanisms to return us back to normal. This is the essence of homeostasis.

Describe Scleritis. Discuss homeostasis and explain in 150-200 words what harm the disease process is doing. Make sure to describe the stages of the disease and the reaction of the body to that particular stage to maintain homeostasis. For example the stages in the flu: Infection, Fever, Sweating, Getting better. The reaction of the body is different during these stages.

Don’t forget three references.

Summarize the journal article (provided in uploaded file below) and discuss how this chemical can affect learning and memory. Provide a specific example of how this chemical can hinder or enhance the learning. What activity or strategy can you use in design or facilitation/teaching to increase or decrease this chemical within the brain to support learning?
