Project Description:

As a student in the marketing program, you have been asked to create a  presentation on the power of color and its impact on marketing. You  have begun a presentation and now need to add the content to the  presentation.

Start   PowerPoint. Download and open the file named Exp19_PPT_AppCapstone_IntroAssessment_Color.pptx. Grader has automatically added   your last name to the beginning of the filename. 

Change the theme fonts to   TrebuchetMS.

Click Slide 5 and use the Reuse   Slides option to insert all slides from Color.pptx.
   Keep the source formatting of the original slides (inserted slides).  Note,   Mac users, insert all slides from the file using the default  formatting.

On Slide 13 in the left content   placeholder, insert the Orange1.jpg   image. In the middle content placeholder, insert the Orange2.jpg image. In the right content placeholder, insert the Orange3.jpg image.
 

  Apply the Drop Shadow Rectangle picture style to the three images. 

On Slide 3 insert the ColorWheel.mp4 video file. Make the   following changes to the
   video:
   • Apply the Monitor, Gray video style.
   • Set the video to start Automatically.
   • Compress the video

On Slide 16 insert the image Balloon.jpg as a background image on   the slide. Change the transparency to 10%.

On Slide 4 convert the bulleted   list to a Vertical Box List  SmartArt graphic. Make the following changes to   the SmartArt graphic:
 

• Change the colors to Colorful Range   – Accent Colors 4 to 5.
   • Change the SmartArt style to Intense Effect.
   • Change the text font size in all four shapes to 28 pt. 

On Slide 16 apply the Gradient   Fill: Purple, Accent color 5, Reflection WordArt style to the text Questions?
 

  Make the following changes to the WordArt:
 

  Increase the font size to 96 pt.
   • Change the Text Fill to Gold, Accent 3.
   • Apply the Wave Up text effect in the Transform gallery (Mac users: Apply   the Wave 2 text
  effect in the Transform gallery).
   • Change the Shape Height to 2.8″.
   • Set the Horizontal position of the shape to 0.8″ and the Vertical   position to 1.7″.

On Slide 15 insert an Oval shape   on the slide.
 

  Make the following changes to the Oval shape:
   • Change the Shape Height to 1.5″ and the Shape Width to 1.5″.
   • Type Blue   in the shape   and apply the Moderate Effect – Dark   Blue, Accent 6 shape style.
   • Change the font color of the text to Black, Background 1, increase the font   size to
20 pt and apply Bold.
   • Set the Horizontal position of the shape to 3.15″ and the Vertical position to 4.5″.

Make a copy of the formatted   oval shape and paste on the slide. Set the Horizontal position of the new   shape to 7.15″ and the Vertical position to 4.5″. Highlight the text in the   shape, and type Red, apply the Moderate Effect – Red, Accent 1 shape style.

Copy the formatted oval shape   again and paste on the slide. Set the Horizontal position of the new shape to   11.15″ and the Vertical position to 4.5″. Highlight the text in the   shape, and type Yellow, apply the Moderate Effect – Gold, Accent 3 shape style.

On Slide 5 insert a table with 2   columns and 6 rows.
   Make the following changes to the table structure:
   • Apply the No Style, Table Grid table style.
   • Change the width of the first column to 2.4″.
   • Change the width of the second column to 6.3“. 

Type the following information   into the table:
   Row 1: Col 1: Red; Col 2: Excitement, Youthful, Bold
   Row 2: Col 1: Blue; Col 2: Trust, Dependable, Strength
   Row 3: Col 1: Yellow; Col 2: Optimism, Clarity, Warmth
   Row 4: Col 1: Black; Col 2: Power, Mystery, Intensity
   Row 5: Col 1: Green; Col 2: Peaceful, Wealth, Growth
   Row 6: Col 1: Orange; Col 2: Friendly, Cheerful, Confidence

Set the height of the table to 3.9″. Center Vertically the text in   the first and second columns of the   table.

In the table, apply the   following shading:
   •Red, Accent 1 to the cell with the text Red   
   •Dark Blue, Accent 6 to the cell with the text Blue
   •Gold, Accent 3 to the cell with the text Yellow
   •Dark Green, Accent 4 to the cell with the text Green
   •Orange, Accent 2 to the cell with the text Orange

On Slide 14 insert a Clustered   Column chart. Replace the  spreadsheet information with the following   information: Leaving cell  A1 blank, type Percentage in cell B1. Populate cells   A2:B5 with the following:
 

Red 29%
Blue 33%
Black/Grayscale 28%
Yellow 13%
 

  Change the source data to use the range A1:B5.

Make the following changes to   the chart:
 

  • Apply the Style 4 chart style
   (Note, ensure that the selected style contains the silvery background color,   gridlines, and inside end data labels.)
   • Remove the chart title, gridlines, and legend.
   • Increase the font size of the data labels to 32 pt.
   • Change the Shape Fill of the Blue data point to Dark Blue, Accent 6
   • Change the Shape Fill of the Black/Grayscale data point to Black,   Background 1
   • Change the Shape Fill of the Yellow data point to Gold, Accent 3

On Slide 15 select the blue   circle shape, press SHIFT, and then  select the rectangle shape with the blue   outline. Group the shapes.  Repeat for the two remaining shapes on the slide   to group each of the  circle shapes with their associated rectangle shapes.

On Slide 14 apply the Fly In   animation (Entrance category) to the  chart. Set the Effect Options to   Sequence By Element in Series. Set  the animation to start After Previous. Set   the Delay to 00.75.

Add page numbers to all slides   with the exception of the first slide. 

Apply the Push transition to all   slides.

On Slide 1 type Welcome to   the power of color presentation. (including the
   period) as a speaker note.

Check the presentation for   spelling errors, and correct any errors.

Save and close Exp19_PPT_AppCapstone_IntroAssessment_Color.pptx.   Submit the file as directed.

The first step will be to select an organization as the target for your network design and architecture proposal document. This organization will be used as the basis for each of the assignments throughout the course and should conform to the following guidelines:

• Nontrivial: The selected organization should be large enough to allow reasonable exercise of the network design process.
• Domain Knowledge: You should be familiar enough with the organization to allow for focus on the project’s tasks without the significant time required for domain education.
• Accessibility: You should have good access to the people and other information related to the organization because this will be an important part of the process.

The selected organization may already have a distributed network in place, but it can still be used as the basis for the projects in this course.

The selected organization must have a need for some kind of distributed network computing as part of their operations. Therefore, you may identify a hypothetical organization that meets these requirements. Any necessary assumptions may be made to fulfill the requirements of organization selection process.

Select an existing organization, or identify a hypothetical organization that fits these requirements, and submit your proposal to your instructor before proceeding with the assignments in the course. Approval should be sought within the first several days of the course. Your instructor will tell you how to submit this proposal and what notification will be given for project approval.

Assignment:

For the assignments in this course, you will not be implementing a distributed network, but you will be developing a comprehensive network design and architecture proposal document. Your first task in this process will be to select an organization or identify a hypothetical organization to use as the basis of your project. You will also create the shell document for the final project deliverable that you will be working on during each unit. As you proceed through each project phase, you will add content to each section of the final document to gradually complete the final project deliverable. Appropriate research should be conducted to support the development of your proposal document, and assumptions may be made when necessary.

Museum Guided Exhibition problem A state museum wants to provide detailed information about their collections in a multimedia format within the museum. The museum has two types of exhibit; the permanent collection that is on display at the museum at all times and a temporary exhibit that is on display for several months only. The museum curators have installed information kiosks all over the museum to provide information on individual items in the permanent collection. The information provided gives the details of the item including, the name of the item, the history and a description of the item. The information is provided in text and many items also have a multimedia recording about the item which gives details of its use and history. The information kiosks also provide information about the location of facilities and services within the museum such as the toilets, parking, food stores and museum shops. The curators want to provide visitors with a tablet device that will guide them through an exhibition. The tablet should allow a visitor to follow a pre-determined path through the exhibition, but should also allow a visitor to wander at random through the exhibition space. The tablet should show each item on exhibit with a photograph of the item, plus as much contextual information as the curators provide for that item. The contextual information may include photographs, drawings, illustrations of the item in use, and may also include a multimedia presentation about the item. Visitors should be able to search for a particular item in the exhibit and should also be able to browse through the entire exhibit using the information provided on the tablet. They should be able to search for a particular item and find the location of that item within the exhibit. The tablet should be able to direct the visitor to the location of the required item on display. The tablets must also provide information about the location of facilities and services within the museum such as the toilets, parking, food stores and museum shops. The tablets must be able to show on a map the current location with the exhibition and the shortest route to the required service. You have been commissioned to design the exhibition tablet interface for the museum. The museum curators want to provide their visitors with the ability to be guided through an exhibition, browse the exhibition, locate the items within the exhibition, and locate the facilities and services within the museum. Information on the individual items of the exhibition should also be provided. The tablet interface should be designed so that it can be used for different exhibitions using different themes and colour schemes. The tablets should be usable by all types of visitors, from the young students to the older visitors. Some of the visitors may have limited understanding of English; therefore the provided instructions and information should be easy to understand. Your design focus is on providing the application screen design and layout function for the tablet. You are not required to design or interface with the database that will support the exhibition at this stage. You are also not required to design for a specific type of tablet. You may make any other assumptions not stated here but you must state them in your Key Assumptions in your Project Brief. You will need to provide drawings of the interface design for your chosen system. Drawings must clearly show all components of your design and each component must be clearly labelled. Do not use any existing Museum name, tablet name, trademarks or pictures.

 

Task:

You are to prepare the project scope and initial requirements and assumptions for a new Interface Design project for the Museum Guided Exhibition as outlined in the Museum Guided Exhibition problem case study.

You are to prepare a Project Brief for this project.

You should approach this project as a “blue sky” project. That is, you are going to design and develop an interface that is different to those that you have previously worked on. This means that your planning will necessarily be somewhat more diffident as you will be doing research during the planning and design process to achieve your design aims.

Your project brief should include the following sections:

1. Overview
2. Vision
3. Scope
4. Outcomes
5. Key assumptions
6. Objectives, Outputs and Targets
7. Success Criteria

The project brief should concentrate on the Overview, Vision, Scope, Outcomes and Key Assumptions at this stage. These sections define your vision for the project and should be reasonably well developed.

The Objectives and Success Criteria may not be well known at this stage, but some effort should be made to determine what they are. These will be added to later in the project.
