IT Project Managers – Balancing Ethics, Leadership, & Technology

IT Project managers do a lot more than calculations and reporting; they must keep the team on track, ensure ethical decisions are made, deal with conflict, and, depending on the type of organization, they may perform employee evaluations, issue bonuses, hire and lay off personnel, and other tasks. In this paper, you will discuss some of the key elements of the project management process.

Write a six to eight (6-8) page paper in which you:

1. Discuss at least two (2) different roles that IT project managers can play in organizational leadership.
2. Describe at least three (3) human resource factors that affect project management.
3. Recommend at least three (3) conflict resolution techniques that IT project managers can utilize to keep team members productive.
4. Explain at least three (3) leadership approaches and when they are best utilized.
5. Describe at least three (3) ethical situations or dilemmas that IT project managers might face in their role within an organization.
6. Assess the role of technology in project management.
7. Use at least four (3) quality resources in this assignment. Note: Wikipedia and similar websites do not qualify as quality resources.

Imagine you are a manager at a lifespan management facility and you are giving a training on compliance.

Create a 10- to 15-slide Microsoft® PowerPoint® presentation in which you:

• Analyze employment, licensure, and operational requirements for lifespan management services and facilities.
• Describe the use of compliance reporting in lifespan management.
• Analyze the relationship between technology and compliance in lifespan management.
• Provide a case study, article, or current event on a compliance issue in lifespan management. Highlight the compliance issues and what should have been done instead.
• Provide an overview of consequences related to non-compliance.

In Amy Tan’s essay “Mother Tongue,” we see how Tan’s mother is often not respected because of her spoken language, and how Tan has to step in, even as a teenager, to speak for her mother. What impact do you see that this experience has on Tan’s sense of identity and how she approaches everything, from taking the SAT to her career as a writer? Be sure to use examples from the text to support your argument.

Additionally, reading personal narratives like “Mother Tongue” can also help promote empathy in readers, probably because the writers of these stories are often their own likable characters. Do you have any new understanding after reading this essay? If so, what is it? Do you take any bigger lessons from “Mother Tongue,” especially in light of our country’s current debate on immigration?

students are individually responsible for writing a short literature review on the topic of Youth Suicide. This review must be a minimum of 1,500 words, including a title page, abstract, and reference page. APA formatted is required!

each student will pick from one of six sub-topics. After the sub-topic has been assigned, each student will write a literature review using three articles (all on the same sub-topic) posted on the course website. You may not use any other articles or sources. The sub-topics are as follows:

For this literature review, it is important for students to show their knowledge about the research topic.

This literature review is different from an annotated bibliography, which is a listing of articles with descriptions. A critical review is not a string of summaries, it is a synthesized review. In other words, students do not simply write a short review of each research study, but tie the research studies together into a “story” or “conversation.” Examples of literature reviews will be provided to you.

This process requires some insight and interpretation, not evaluation. Keep in mind that personal opinions are not included in a literature review.

Report what is relevant to your study and ignore what is not. This means you need to read the abstract, the introduction and conclusion of your articles. And, for long articles, focus on the parts that relate to your topic.

**At the end of the literature review, you will also need to write a two-paragraph summary of what you have learned about the topic from the three articles. This includes critique and reflection about the “story,” not the individual articles.**

Avoid long quotes in your review, and paraphrase whenever possible.

Maximum quotes = 2 short quotes (less than 40 words each).

Correct APA formatting is also required – double-spaced, 12 pt Times New Roman font, 1 inch margins all around, APA in-text citations and a reference page. Run spelling and grammar checks and double-check your APA formatting. Be sure to CITE your sources throughout the review.

Grading Rubric

Short Literature Reviews will be graded according to the following criteria:

1. Content and Development (Total points: 60)
2. Paper adequately synthesizes the key ideas and conclusions from the three articles and puts them in conversation with one another: 60 Points
3. Mechanics and Style (Total points: 40)
4. APA rules of spelling, grammar, usage, and punctuation are followed: 30 Points
5. Sentences are complete, clear, and concise, and the tone is appropriate to the content and assignment: 10 Points

Summarize the journal article (provided in uploaded file below) and discuss how this chemical can affect learning and memory. Provide a specific example of how this chemical can hinder or enhance the learning. What activity or strategy can you use in design or facilitation/teaching to increase or decrease this chemical within the brain to support learning?
